![]() ![]() Add in the smattering of red finishes inside and suddenly the RAV4 looks like it means business. The two-tone paint job on this test unit, finished in Lunar Rock and white, suits its character perfectly, and the 18-inch black TRD wheels and unique roof rails wrap it up in a tidy, tough-looking bow. And this Trail TRD Off Road version is the best-looking of the bunch, if you ask me. They don’t tend to make enthusiasts weak-kneed, but as smaller SUVs go the Toyota RAV4 isn’t a bad-looking vehicle at all. The Trail grade is the only one in the RAV4 line-up that’s not available as a hybrid, and tacking on the TRD Off Road package turns this compact SUV into a comfortable daily driver that’s also ready to get dirty. The 2021 Toyota RAV4 Trail TRD Off Road is one such compelling reason. There is the occasional argument for passing on gas–electric power, though. Different strokes for different folks. There aren’t a lot of reasons to opt out of hybrid drive these days – especially when shopping the Toyota lineup, where hybrid-powered models are usually similar in price to their gas-only counterparts. Some of us disagree or have had opposite impressions. But, don't just listen to us posting our thoughts. Watched every video out there on these new Ravs. I tried soaking up like a sponge all info from people's experiences and test drives. Much more burnt orange than the bright orange in videos and pics. Oh and the orange accents look better in person. Contrasted with the dark wheels, windows (passanger seats to the back) crossbars, and other dark accents? Beautiful and. And, ya can't beat 3,500 lbs towing, especially here in Utah with frequent ATV trips to Moab and whatnot ? P.S. Just needed to be better storage/cargo space, and feel/look more rugged. Final verdict? So happy I went with the Rav and not CX-5 turbo. And helped to have 4 Toyota dealers in the area-one actively bidding against my final dealership. It helped that I just got my Master's this past May and was eligible for the $750 college rebate. I'd say pretty darn good price I got at $37,200. Probably helped that the engine was well warmed up after sitting in it a solid 20+ minutes with salesman going through all the apps and updating. I didn't even note the engine noise on ride home. They were shocked I was on speaker while driving cuz it sounded so clear and no background noise, they kept saying. Parents thought I was calling from my phone. Super quiet, which was a pleasant surprise after that 1st test drive impression. What on earth was I EVER concerned about? This car is amazing. Now, as of tonighy, new happy owner of an Adventure: Lunar Rock, Mocha (although the Remote App pulls it up as Orchid Brown), all packages (premium sound, all weather, advanced tech), crossbars, all weather mats (including trunk), Utah. I also didn't note any odd shifting, as a few have noted. MUCH better experience on the 2nd test drive. And, Limited was the closest model to it. I always knew I'd want an Adventure, but wasn't in stock yet anywhere. After all, for me an SUV is meant for outdoor living, ask well as, city driving. Realized, what was I thinking almost buying the CX-5? Not rugged enough for me and to small. My parents' Outback has more cargo space. After all, some others had said it, so I may have gone into the test drive expecting to hear something.ĭecided to test drive the CX-5 turbo, against the advice of our auto teacher (I teach high school). Left a bit disappointed wondering if car was too noisy. So, always just ho wth your own experience and don't go into your test drives thinking one way or the other.įirst test drive was an XLE Premium. MY experience so opposite of others posting today. So funny how I'm finding everyone has their own opinions.
